For Teuqus, Pro Bono
Now that I've started to be a blogger, I find I'm myself a lot of the time. Maybe 90%. And too, I have the same sensitivities you do. And too, too, I have no significant other.

What I want to say EXACTLY, I usually say--but I usually want to say things that will keep me in harmony with friends and family. I don't regret what I DO NOT say because I value harmony more than I value having a fallout with someone I need in my life.

It is, and I think forevermore will be, a game of compromise. From my little corner of the world I can tell you this much--compromise is okay. The opposite of compromise is to oppress people with your will. I know that if I started doing that, then I truly would be a miserable person.

Like in love, I'd suggest trying to concentrate on enjoying people for who and what they are, with the bumps and flaws and everything. Whatever you can tolerate. Know your limits and accept them about yourself.

Try to make a study of what makes people who they are, and where they come from. You'd then find that most people ARE actors playing themselves. Parents, economics, media, role-models, friends, vocations--all these inform the performance and influences the scriptwriter. But I think it's better to play yourself than somebody else. You just have to learn how to love the character you're playing. Defend your character. Change what you want to change. (Argue with the director if you have to--no one knows this character better than you do.)

Thanks for asking such great, thought-provoking questions, Teuqus. I learned a little something that I'm going to use for myself! I hope my thoughts can help you some, too.
